These terms are an agreement between you and Chicken Pizza Taco Inc. ("we", "us") and govern your use of the ate. app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Your account
You must be at least 14 years old to use ate. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials private. Provide accurate information and one account per person.
Your content
You own the ratings, notes, photos, and takes you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content within the Service according to the visibility you chose — including showing public posts on this website and including your scores, anonymously, in community averages and leaderboards. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared into aggregates that no longer identify you.
Only post content you have the right to share. Ratings and takes are personal opinions about food — post honestly, about dishes you actually ate.
Community rules — zero tolerance for abuse
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on ate. You must not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene, or pornographic; that infringes anyone's rights (including photos of people without their consent); that is spam, deliberately false, or commercial solicitation; and you must not impersonate others, scrape the Service, or interfere with its operation.
The app provides tools to report any content or user and to block users you don't want to interact with. We review reports and act on objectionable content promptly — including removing content and suspending or terminating the responsible account without notice.
Restaurants and third-party data
Restaurant names, addresses, and details come from Google Places. ate. is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any restaurant. Scores and averages are community opinion, not professional advice, and we do not guarantee their accuracy.
Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the Service or its members.
Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chicken Pizza Taco Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service (ate. is free) or 50 CAD, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer-protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Changes to the Service or these terms
ate. evolves; features may change or be discontinued. If we materially change these terms we will update this page and its effective date and tell you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. Disputes belong to the courts of the district of Montréal, Québec.
